Please
consider the following before you adopt:
• Rabbits live to be
8-10 years old. Are you willing and able to make this commitment?
• The primary caregiver must be an adult.
• Most rabbits do not like to be held. They prefer to sit beside
their human companions.
• All rabbits adopted from us must live indoors. This insures their
safety and integration into the family.
• Your home will need to be “bunny proofed.” (We can provide lots of
time-tested suggestions on how to accomplish this.)
• Rabbits are natural chewers and diggers, but you can work with
this behavior by keeping them stimulated with toys, cardboard boxes,
pinecones and chew sticks.
• Rabbits are very social and must have daily exercise and
attention.
• Rabbits require a healthy daily diet of pellets, hay and fresh
greens.
• Rabbits require veterinary care -- at least yearly exams.
• If the rabbit becomes ill, are you prepared for veterinary visits?
• Rabbits do well with children and other pets, but must be
supervised.
On the other hand,
living with a house rabbit has many rewards that make these
sacrifices entirely worthwhile.
•
Rabbits make wonderful pets and companions.
•Their antics are endearing and can charm most animal lovers.
•Rabbits possess individual personalities, just like other animals
in your house. The more time and attention you give them, the more
they give back to you.

And last of all:
Rabbits are natural born characters and the best free entertainment
you’ll ever have!
